Hissy Dances Through the Seasons
An Original Storybook Mini-Ballet!
The HIS Dance Academy students will be presenting Hissy Dances Through the Seasons on May 8 and 9. This darling original storybook mini-ballet will feature our favorite little mascot, Hissy, who has delighted students at the academy for many years! Hissy loves Jesus, Hissy adores God’s Word, Hissy delights in her mama’s honey, and Hissy is wild about dancing. By writing Bible verses on her honey jar, Hissy dances through life, sharing God’s message with everyone she meets! It’s not your typical “recital”... you will want to invite everyone you know to experience this beautiful message! We love giving every student the opportunity to dance the message of Christ!

Graded Technique Dress Rehearsal Thursday, May 7
Call time 4:15 / warm up 4:30-5:00 / Dress rehearsal 5:30 to approx. 8:15 (stage times approximate)
All Recreational dancers will rehearse their dance on the stage the day of the show (Please see detailed arrival time above)

No recreational classes will meet May 4-7. Graded Technique classes will meet Monday-Wednesday.

Please Note:
Students are NOT permitted to leave the performances early. This is disheartening for the other little dancers and presents us with distractions and security issues.
HIS Showcase is our way of allowing every student to dance the message of Christ to the community; please be courteous and remain in the auditorium.

All students are expected to participate in the Showcase unless you let your teacher and desk staff know otherwise. Class attendance is imperative. If a student has excessive absences, it is up to the teacher’s discretion as to whether or not the student will participate in the showcase. Mini Session students will not participate in the showcase. 30-minute class participation in Showcase will be determined in October and posted accordingly.

​We do our best to keep siblings dancing in the same shows to make performances convenient for families. Sometimes, this is not possible, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We schedule and post showcase information in October so that you may plan accordingly.
